Technically it was only 2 losing seasons: 2001 at 7-9, and the 2005 Katrina season.
The 8-8 seasons, while nothing to brag about, are technically not "losing" seasons....and one of them should have resulted in a playoff berth (2004). I think that was what frustrated fans the most about the Haslett/Brooks era. Taking away the 2000 playoff run and the 2005 Katrina season, their record was a perfect average of 8-8 between 2001 and 2004. Many fans (myself included) kept thinking eventually they'd get over that hump. In hindsight though, the "you are what your record says you are" slogan definitely summed up that era. |
