Carolina Panthers
Safety Roman Harper: He's still decent against the run, but he struggles in pass protection. That's not a good thing in a division with Matt Ryan, Drew Brees and now Jameis Winston.

Kansas City Chiefs
Guard Ben Grubbs: He was acquired in a trade from the Saints to improve the inside play. But based on what he did for the Saints last year, they are expecting a lot more. He really struggled in 2014 in front of Drew Brees.

I don't think that was all Byrd's fault

It's hard to make plays when your lined up 40 yards from the line of scrimmage because your Defensive Coordinator is misusing a great player.

I'll say that before he got hurt I wasn't noticing any real impact from Byrd, but it wasn't nearly enough games to make a final judgement. There was no doubting what kind of player he was before he came here, so I need to see a lot more before calling him overrated.

Byrds contract i still have not wrapped my head around

but

given the supporting cast failure was never in doubt. Then there is Rob...enough said. The cast is much improved except at SS. so there is hope i can handle 75% of that contract.

Then there is the addition of DA. Dennis Allen could turn out to be the greatest signing of the off season.

That's not misusing Byrd at all. That's what he is... A deep safety. The problem was that no-one underneath could cover worth s*** and Byrd couldn't make plays as effectively.

im pretty sure everyone knew he was a run stopper but sucked against the pass. I dont ever remember anyone claiming he was well rounded. He isnt over rated, hes just an average player. I cant remember anyone saying he was going to Carolina and really fill a need as a complete player.

Funny now they are all connected to the Saints.

Didnt Byrd have a pretty big play or interception in that first game against Atlanta? He went down shortly after.

How can u judge a guy that played so little. I were impressed with his leadership , it made the whole de backfield go to the pits of nfl lure. I think it could have gotten better if he don.t blow his knee.

Byrd had a forced fumble in the ATL game, but he wasn't nearly the ball hawk that was sold as...

This looks like a contract vs impact opinion...
