this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Why do we have to resign Deuce this year...why cant we wait till his contract is up. I think at this point all we will do is overpay him. He is not LT and that is what he is gonna ...

Honestly, this wouldn\'t be a good year for him to request a new deal. He didn\'t produce as many expected or as he probably expected. On our side, we could probably sign him to a long-term deal now cheaper than after next season if he returns to 1500+ range. He\'s probably too smart to do that so we might not resign him this year.
