John Jenkins believes his time has come.
The former third-round pick has spent two seasons backing up Brodrick Bunkley, stepping into the starting lineup for long stretches when Bunkley went down with an injury. Now, the big nose tackle feels like he’s capable of taking a big step forward in his third season in New Orleans. “I’m ready to take off,” Jenkins said. “I had a good year my rookie year, I had a good year my second year, dealing with adversity on my end and then trying to deal with things.” Read more: John Jenkins feels ‘ready to take off’ in third year with Saints | Saints | The Advocate — Baton Rouge, Louisiana |

His injury slowed him down no doubt. But we pay him good money to get healthy as soon as possible and his recovery mentally is what slowed him down. I have no sympathy what so ever for him. Rugby players don't seem to have that problem......of course, we don't value our bodies.

Brick wall the running lane or bend the pocket. The man is strong enough and big enough to do it almost every single time. His weight rounded is closer to 400 lbs. I fully hope to see this develop. I would not be able to explain why a healthy Jenkins could not create this circumstance for offenses.

You can want to do something and still fail. Lets hope that doesn't happen.

If we were going to take a NT at 13 this draft that says alot already. Our NT has needed upgraded for years. If Bunkley and Jenkins can't get it done they need to be traded or cut. I am interested how our 5th rounder will be. Hopefully we get results this season out of our NT and front line cause if not I look for it to be a long, long season.
