5 Games the Saints MUST win
 

The Saints are coming off of a 7-9 season and perhaps the most disappointing performance in franchise history (which is impressive in its own right). Based on that I could make the argument that EVERY single game they play next year is a must win game. However, there are certain games that I believe carry far more significance to the season as a whole. Some of them are important because its a division game, some are for revenge, and others are important because of what they mean to the teams psyche as a whole. Regardless I am going to rank the 5 games in 2015 which I believe to be absolute must win games.

Hmmm, let me see here. That would be vs Jacksonville, Dec 27, vs atl, Jan 3, we'll get the next week off, then the Divisional Round vs whoever, Jan 16, the the NFC Championship vs someone else, Jan 24, then the Superbowl, Feb 7.

salvage a terrible season? sweep the falcons

when is the draft? beat the falcons at home

getting swept by the falcons is the worse thing that can happen. super bowl win or not. totally unacceptable.

I agree with the writer's point that it's important to get a win in the first game. Historically the Saints under Sean Payton do a lot better when they start the season strong -- they are not nearly as good at coming from behind the 8-ball or digging out of holes, you can't reliably count on catching somebody from behind as a way to get to the dance. 2007 springs to mind. In 2009 obviously we stepped on the gas and led the pack pretty much the whole way through. In both 2012 and 2008 we came out flat and the whole year slipped away before you knew it.

Also the first game against the Falcons, is HUGELY important to me. Get that one game up on the Falcons, and the rest of it (including Carolina) will usually take care of itself as the season unfolds. In years where the Saints limp along the whole season, chasing the Falcons from a game behind, those seasons never seem to turn out well.
