In the wake of Fridays massive decision to release top pass rusher Junior Galette the New Orleans Saints find themselves in an even deeper hole in their effort to create more consistency in their defense on both a week to week and now a year to year basis.

What Galette means to this team has been talked about ad nauseam, whether he’s cancer to the locker room or one of the games true elite pass rushers and most consistent defender for New Orleans. What went on behind closed doors is unknown to us. All that we know is that the Saints pass rush is going to have to come from other areas. One Saint, it seems is ready to step out of the shadows, and his name is Kasim Edebali.

Let’s take a closer look at the one they call the Germ Kasim (THE DREAM) Edebali.

Last year around this time, Junior was very vocal about taking rookie OLB Edebali under his wing to be the Robin to his Batman. Galette must have seen some of himself in the fellow undrafted free-agent out of Boston College and took it upon himself to mold him like a ball of clay. And it’s very apparent when watching Kasim line up.

Just look at his stance!

biggest thing to pay attention to, for me anyway, Cam Jordan takes on two blockers... this is huge. Sometimes people have success because of who else is on the line with them. Not saying that is so with Junior, but it is certainly possible

Great point. If the NT position gets pushed around like it did last year Cam is going to have a long season.

If he can not handle the doubles all game long, all season long because are NT are wimps. the OLB are easy targets and stand no chance just like any OLB Corps in the NFL. That leaves the need for speed at MLB and sure fire tackling from the secondary.

Man o man what lessons we all learned from last year.
