Dominate teams make the stops when they have to. If your defense is giving up 28, 30, 35 points, then they are not making crucial stops. That's not a defense you can count on in a critical moment.

Championship teams impose their will on the opposition. They do what they do best, and prevent the opposition from doing so. The Saints had two such games last year: Green Bay and the first Carolina game. Pittsburgh would have qualified, but the team gave up 16 points in the 4th quarter.

Think about Cleveland and Detroit last season. Defeat snatched out of the jaws of victory because the Saints could not impose their will.

It's more than just scoring more points than the opposition.
