WILLIE WHO? Long Shot Snead Throws His Name In Mix of Saints WR Battle

Best of luck to him!

One of the memorable performances on the opening day of Saints Training Camp yesterday, came when a virtually unknown WR named Willie Snead came up with a couple of with a couple of big catches that caught the eye of the Saints coaching staff; as well as observers in attendance watching practice and fans in the stands who had braved the rain.

First, the second year player out of Ball State got behind DB Stanley Jean Baptiste for a nice reception and then followed that up by blowing past rookie DB P.J. Williams for a nice gain.

In all, Snead caught what would have been a total of over 100 yards on just those two receptions alone, and reporters and analysts at Practice were equally impressed by Snead, who the Saints had signed near the end of last year.

Sure handed, I love the sound of that. As many drops that our unsure handed WR had last season, one with sure hands is music to the ears. I could care less how fast he is as long as he gets some type of seperation and catches the ball when called on.

He has as good a shot as anyone. I like it when guys want it instead of just winning the job by default. One of the guys will also have to contribute on special teams. Two ways to earn a spot.
