Even then I don't want so much money committed to a couple guys that there's nothing left to fill the roster out with any quality players. That being said, though, we can't sit here and say they shouldn't have given the money to a guy who was going to be injured, when no one could have seen that coming.
It speaks more to the overall risk of paying out big contracts in a sport like football. But since we know teams will continue to do this, you just have to hope nothing bad happens. |
