SP seemed pissed

Anyone else get the feeling that the scrimmage did not go well and he is pissed? I did, and I get the feeling that Rob is gonna be out of a job

From reports there were atleast 4 instances where the defense had either too many or not enough players on the field.

Anybody that feels Dennis Allen was brought in just in case Rob screws up may just be right, even though I think he gets this year.

Yeah, I took the same from his press conf. He may get the whole year, but part of me feels he may not and D.A. is here for a smooth mid-years trans. I mean we had those same issues last season too... RR has got to get these dudes in tune with what needs to be going on..

Might be too many cooks in the kitchen as well.

I wouldn't put too much into a single scrim... let's at least wait until the first pre-season game before we start firing people.

Definitely a fair point, he deserves the chance to redeem himself but if the defense can't even line themselves up by game 5, I would not be at all surprised to see Rob gone, which in my opinion is a shame because he seems like a real players coach and a good guy.

+1. I would much rather see these mistakes now in scrimmage rather than on Sunday's.

I remember last year they had a really scrappy, sloppy, bad practice up there in the rain in Virginia, that was so obvious that the beat writers couldn't help but mention it. And they wound up going 7-9 on the year. I remember another year 2012, all during preseason and into the first game of the year, the team were getting called for sloppy penalties like too many men on the field on defense, guys jogging off to the sidelines, illegal formation, not enough down linemen on the line, etc. And that carried over into the year.

I'm not encouraged by what I'm hearing this year. Payton used to be so good at preventing this type of thing -- what the heck happened to him?

How you practice is how you play -- this is true in playing music, it's true in sports, it's true in flying an airplane, it's even true in being a doctor or surgeon.

There were also reports that the offense was sloppy at times, as well... He has the right to be pissed...

Yep, large part no doubt. This is a mental problem and I don't care for it...because I am telling you that is sloppy football and there is no time for it. It wouldn't be as bad, but we had these same exact issues last season...that's what I don't like.

Granted, plenty of time to get it fixed, and better now than during the season, but nonetheless it is concerning consider similar issues during last season
