Ok, lots of guys around here the that T-sucky can't get it done.
I agree that (a) he hasn't been a playmaker in the passing game, and (b) he costs way to much. However, did you know that he tied Jonathon Vilma for solo tackles this year? In fact, he's tied for 27th place in tackles in the entire NFL? In fact, only three other safeties had to make as many tackles, and those three had either 1 or 2 INTs too. Is it possible that Safeties who are asked to make as many contributions to defending the run as these four are just unlikely to be able to make plays in the secondary? Mere speculation I'm sure, but what do you guys think? |

well i think we have more pressing needs. i thought he started to play better the second half of the year. maybe im wrong. but i think he has been better each of the last two years. so with the other needs we have i\'d like to keep him and see what he can do this year. i think he has played pretty good for us the more time he has been here

do they keep stats on how many times he gets ****ing toasted... i mean wr\'s run right past him a lot of the times and he lets them go... then he tracks them down 40 yds. down the field... that\'s why he has a lot of tackles... how many TFL did he happen to have? betcha ain\'t got that info...

I thought his tackling was much improved from \'03 to \'04. His coverage wasn\'t quite there but maybe he was concentrating on the run more. I think the reason he\'s not so good in coverage is because he lacks instincts for the game. The problem is that you can\'t teach that.
He was still a little bit on the \"big hit\" side of things, but he didn\'t seem to miss as many tackles. Bottomline: He\'s overpriced, but does have value to use. |

Here\'s the way I see it.........
Haslett and co. are the ones that offered Tebucky all that money!! What\'s Tebucky suppose to do? Is he suppose to turn that money down? If someone wants to blame someone for overpaying Tebucky, blame Haslett, not Tebucky. Tebucky hasn\'t played up to the money. He hasn\'t played great. I\'m not sure he ever will. Playing in Ventuir\'s scheme doens\'t allow anyone to shine other than the DE\'s. And all the defensive ends have to do is pin their ears back and make a sack to get some recognition!! I don\'t know if Tebucky has the instincts or not. Playing behind our front seven makes it very difficult. I\'m not willing to pass judgement just yet. |

So who should we blame if we feel the QB hasn\'t played up to the money? LOL.
Weren\'t you the guy who argued for Haslett and against the players? \"Haslett isn\'t on the field, he can\'t make the plays himself!\" - or something along those lines. Now it\'s blame Haslett for poor personnel decisions? Just keeping you honest Flippity.... |

Desptie popular opinion here at B&G -- I can\'t blame as MANY things on coaching as you and some others do. It sems to me that a lot of foks use coahing as an excuse for ANYthing.... I can\'t do that. I\'m going to lay blame where I think it belongs and I\'m not going to place blame for things I think are outside of the coaches hands. If a receiver drops a ball, I\'m not going to blame the coach or the QB. I\'m going to blame the receiver. If a player jumps offsides, I\'m going to blame that player., If someone plays hurt and is ineffective or whatever, I\'m going to blame the COACH and not that player. It\'s the players responsibility to do everything in his power to get on the field and it\'s the COACHES decison as to whether of not to play the guy. Keep on blaming the coaches for things outside thier control. I\'ll keep ya straight.. |

you have a point gumbo but only to a point.... the thing with coaches is that they have to get their guys ready to play by whatever means necessary... you are right saying players play and coaches coach and what happens on the field is directly related to the player(s) involved... but my point is this, the coach should be able to put his team on the field any given sunday, 100% ready to play, meaning they are healthy enough, smart enough, and emotionally charged up.

i can\'t say with haslett, with the exception of 4 games at the end of last year, where i saw one of the teams he fielded on a sunday afternoon play inspired football, and actually resemble an NFL football team KNOWING what they were supposed to do on both sides of the ball.
