For a brief moment against the Patriots on Saturday, second-year safety Pierre Warren looked like his old self again, which might be an odd thing to say for someone with so little experience.
But considering Warren spent a large portion of 2014 training camp creating turnovers and practically forcing the coaches to notice an undrafted rookie from Jacksonville State, the bar was set relatively high. So when Warren snagged a fourth quarter interception by Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, his first turnover of the preseason, it was a flashback of what he spent most of the 2014 offseason doing. read more here |

Re: New Orleans Saints safety Pierre Warren feels his 'camp could be better,' wants more turnovers
We really really need play makers who can get on the field and make things happen.

I'm not convinced Byrd will be ready to go come week 1. Even if he's technically healthy he's played very little football in a year and a half. Give me Warren over Rafael Bush. While Bush can make some big hits, he's very poor in coverage.

Sunseri was a non-factor. I was disappointed to see how unaggressive he was at going towards the ball and/or ball carrier on several plays

That's encouraging to here. The tools have always been there for him to be a dominant player(Phillips).

Re: New Orleans Saints safety Pierre Warren feels his 'camp could be better,' wants more turnovers
Why don't we try to trade Rafael Bush? He only has one year left under contract and Pierre Warren is clearly the better free safety.
If the answer is because Byrd may not be healthy to start the season and we'll need Bush... I say no, we can roll with Pierre Warren and Kenny Phillips. Warren's shown us more at this point as a Saint than Byrd has. I don't know if Byrd can live up to the expectations at this point. He's become this mythological figure who looms largely through stats but it'll take a miracle to please us. |
