I have not seen our team draft many outwardly Christians. Byrd is religous but we did not draft him, his talent was why we signed him. We didn't want Tebow if I recall. There are others. Just saying how many players on our team can you say is a God fearing Christian. Because as far as drafting is concerned, we never have those kinds of rookies.

Though the board also was pushing for Grayson over Petty and I believe thats what led to the drafting of Grayson. SR did the same thing on their board. The QB is the most important position for maturity, you can win with a immature WR or RB, you can't with a immature QB. A religous person is more likely to be mature and study hard.

No, I'm not gonna chill with the insults. You really are the stupidest person on this board. Do you know how many openly Christian players we have on this team and have had in recent years?

Do you have any objective proof to that last statement? I'm not knocking Christians. I am one myself, but I would love to see empirical proof to that statement? There's not.

Frankly, it's asinine to say it. How about if I said, I prefer pagans on the defensive line because they are more likely to play fierce? Or if I said non Christians make better football players because a Christian would rather be at church than play on Sunday? It's baseless and ridiculous.

Why not say you would rather the team draft Christians because you prefer football teams with players who believe like you do?

When it comes to the qb position, yes I prefer someone who will be mentally ready and mature to start as that is one half of what it takes to be a great qb. You do not want anyone other than that to lead your team for the next 10-15 years.

That's not what you said though. You attribute those qualities to a religious person. Do I want maturity in the QB position? Sure. But one does not need to be religious to be mentally ready or mature. I'm sure many atheists possess those qualities.

But Christians are more mature, and in this day and age of young people, you never know what non-Christians' lives are like until after you draft them. There are way too many NFL players now that like to live and have fun, clubbing, partying. I don't see this with the best QBs in the league(except Wilson if you can call him that). Luck, Brees, Manning, Palmer, Rivers, Rodgers are all settled down. I'm not sure Rodgers was doing all that stuff before Munn. I think we found out why Griffin was struggling in past pre-seasons when it came to a head this offseason. I bet SP whipped him a new one or maybe getting his face smashed grew him up. However he's not tasked with having to watch film. And that separates the elite from the non-elite. So when that point comes he better get his act together if he hasn't.

I mean what do we know about Grayson's life off the field? I don't think Petty's doing anything this pre-season either but what team is he on again?

What do you mean Christians are more mature? I've met may immature people who professed faith in Christ and I've met many mature young men and women who did not.

I'm not gonna argue the merits of religion, but you are making a boatload of assumptions that have no basis in fact except for your own imagination.

Not understanding your argument.
If the definition of maturity or a good person is Christian, then you would have to explain charlemagne, romes adoption and horrible acts, crusades, inquisitions, etc etc etc.. some of the the dumbest and most immature people in history were nut ball fanatical Christians. Same as idiot fanatical muslims we have to deal with now, to any sane person.
This is football..its a game.. we just want good players. Try to keep on track. Your opinion is fine, just doesnt make sense in this venue.

I don't think Petty is that guy. At all. And that Christianity is even condemned by the Bible what you described because no one is supposed to judge.
