Agreed. This could be no more than extra caution, so as to avoid a repeat of last year. He's already been off the practice field for two seasons now. So, training camp starts and he's still a little tweaky. Why not go ahead and let him heal completely. Gives a chance to let some other guys step up (You know we need the depth), and even if Byrd is behind by the time he's fully healed, well that's better than losing him outright, again.
Couple that with the cloak-and-dagger mentality of the preseason inury reports, and this is what you have... |
