Why?

Edit: NVM..I see you were just saying we released them. Bummer for Mabry. I hope we bring him back for PS. I thought he looked decent and had potential.

Interesting cut on Phillips... thought he had a solid camp so I gotta believe he'll return because I doubt Byrd is ready to go.

Deuce was pick 23 and he had less than 100 yards rushing his first season. I think that turned out fine.

Spike, what bothered me was Coach openly disclosed Peat was out-of-shape, and there's just no excuse in a first round investment being out-of-shape...

Robert Meachem, a former first round wide receiver, came in out-of-shape, so this is of concern, at the very least...

Deuce had limited yardage because we still had some kid named Rickey starting ahead of Deuce his rookie season...

This is my point. All the people running around complaining he isn't starting, but we have strief and armistead. That's what I have been pointing out from the get go. It's not like chuck brown is starting in front of him, there's two really good players in front of him.

Didn't this guy almost get Brees killed last year?

I don't buy the out of shape because he was in college excuse. You can study and still find time to train if you want it bad enough and I am sure the Saints gave him some sort of work out plan with target goals. The year I graduated I worked a full time job at around 14-16 hours a day at two jobs, one of which was not for pay. Got 3 or 4 hours of sleep at most and then went to school. I was a basket case that last semester but I still got my **** done because I was hungry for what I wanted to do. This guy knows his career is going to be in professional football and he needs to be hungry. That's why I kind of question his motor and work ethic.

Oh and from what I remember that is exactly what some of the draft experts said might hurt his draft potential

I don't remember any scouting reports ever stating this at all.

The only knock I ever read about him was that he didn't have a nasty streak to him.

Yes. Yes he did. The 'clowns Oline situation is so bad that Harris is an upgrade.

Here's to Ryan hitting the deck early and often.

His size, mobility potential is there; but as an early, first round pick - you have to contribute immediately...

Front office panicked when NT Shelton was taken the pick before. Didn't have a backup plan even though Browns had said they wanted Shelton.

Should've taken the next best available instead...WR Devante Parker or traded down at any price just so they could regain their composure and plan.

Instead, thought they'd be "safe" and take the normally safe top OT on the board. Mediocre plan executed poorly.
