johnson is the best defensive player if not the surest thing player on either side of the ball in this draft class imo. if saban or crennel do not pick him as a cornerstone there is a high probabilty he could still be on the board at #6 for the titans. with their cap woes they seem likely to be inclined to move down. looking at the draft value chart n.o. #16 and 40 picks could get there maybe. the '03 sullivan move up looks like one of the worst total busts in recent nfl history. if you could get dj in that scenario would you? probably the only player i would for n.o. in this draft.

I want to stay away from trading up. 4 or 5 spots is OK, but I\'d rather not let this group trade up anymore. Lets leave that to the professionals.
Besides, what if we trade up, nab DJ, and give up multiple picks that could be used to address the many needs our team needs. Then DJ blows out his knee a la Ki-Jana Carter and his promising career is over before it starts. Now we\'re screwed. There has to be some quality LB\'s we can grab at 16 or 40. |

washington would be a good trade partner for moving darren howard. i dont see dj lasting to #9. if he was there, howard, swap firsts, and throw in a 5th or 6th would accomplish two goals.

dj is a top 5 pick overall whether he goes there or not. after him all of the lb\'s would be a stretch up at #16 imo. at #40 unlikely still available would be- burnett, blackstock, crowder, and morrison. more likely still available would be boley, rudd, mitchell, thurman. if not dj in the first i think a better fit would be the best available of brown ot, davis s, and cody or johnson dt. cb is very deep, i think #40 fits for anothe cb. a top 5 or 6- justin miller-corey webster could still be there for a good value pick.
