Re: Saints @ Cardinals - Game Day Thread
Well, we fought a good game...
Only disappointment I saw was in, of all things, the veterans... Marques Colston, God Bless Him, the olde warrior doesn't look like he's got anything left in the tank... Jahri Evans, former all-pro has had one foot out of the door the since that big contract and is mailing it in... Zach Strief, wily, big-hearted guy, lacked the athleticism and committed a crucial holding penalty... Cam Jordan, absolutely ridiculous he isn't finishing plays; said it was a mistake committing the scheme to him, and it was... Brownwer, see why he wants to return to Seattle and why Pats benched him - he's not worth a sh*t after five yards and can't make an interception (despite two gifts) to save his life... On the positive... We've got some great rookie, youngster play today... While Stephone Anthony has to learn to play quarterback on defense and flow better through blocks, he was tremendous on coverage in the middle... Hau'oli Kikaha may just be the best strong outside linebacker prospect since Rickey Jackson; relentless motor, always trying to make a play... Someone cloned Fred Thomas and renamed him Damian Swann as the rookie plays with fire and heart, and is setting the bar by example... With the exception of a poorly executed chip block while moving to the next level, Tim Lelito held up very well against a varied group of stout defensive linemen... We better find a way to get Willie Snead on the field more as we got another Lance Moore (maybe even quicker) and we didn't utilize him nearly enough... Finally, I'd like to have gotten Marcus Murphy at least five touches instead of Ingram on those obvious passing downs... Really believe Murphy would have converted with his size, quickness and been the difference in the game... |

We never did that. SP did Exactly what you wanted, because he should have completely abandoned the run, in my mind, and pass pass pass to open the run, but never did that. Just wasted playes to screen and run. teams need to be adaptable, and we were not today. |

well forget it obviously we have different views on this agree to disagree I guess
one last thing though that's why we are considered a fineness team instead of a physical team |

0-1, back to work. Cards D is good but our O should be better. What I'm looking at is the Cards O is not really all that impressive, what does our D going to look like vs. a good O, say the Packers?. Lots and lots of work on the D side if you ask me.

Re: Saints @ Cardinals - Game Day Thread
The Cards are a better team. They are a better coached team.
Brees looked good. Ingram and Robinson looked good. The OLine looked good. Snead and Coleman made plays. Hocker absolutely looks the part. Anthony, Kikaha, Breaux, and Swann have potential. Everyone on D competed. The Saints don't have a dynamic football player on the team. A true difference maker other than Brees. The defense is not well coached. The safeties are non-existent. No pass rush or ability to cover a RB or TE. The TE position is old and average at best. Life is just not good when the Saints lose. The good news is they're playing the Bucs next week. |
