Re: Hate to say it
I don't see Sean Payton being in the hot seat this year. I think "IF" the season isn't turned around and he post a losing season this year and next, the yes its time to move on. I think Sean Payton gambled on rebuilding this year and still being competitive and from what we see it just isn't happening.
Drafting better needs to be addressed. However I don't think firing Payton or Loomis is the answer just yet. The defense is young and when they gel it will be awesome. I like what I see on defense. |
Re: Hate to say it
The expectations last year were stratospheric, the fall was long, the landing was brutal.
Smaller expectations this year, but the reality of being beaten by last years worst team with a rookie quarterback is incomprehensible. We are reverse catapulted into the 1970's where a good season is beating the Falcons once and a great season is a 2-14 record with 2 Falcon defeats. I said it last year, the big money players are fat and happy. The fire in the belly is gone. I can hear something vaguely in the distance, wait it is coming closer now, yes, there it is, "The fat lady singing". |

you have something wrong and they will target it. Remember 2 years ago when Graham had a bad wrist so they taped up both of them the same so no one would recognize it. Brees was hurt and Payton should have taken him out the game as a precaution. Might not have made a difference in the game but I don't think it helped Brees' arm out any keeping him in there. Could also explain all the running plays late in the game. |
Re: Hate to say it
Payton needs a DT and another WR. If he had those we might be more competitive.

Re: Hate to say it
Two weeks in. Still a lot of football to be played.

I don't see it either but I sure as heck can't deal with the end of the era talk this early in the year. Whatever it is, it is.

Re: Hate to say it
More Brees hate than I've seen in forever.
Brees has had issues for a while now. No one could post it for the Brees lickers. Brees can still win games. We have a whole host of other troubles. The 100 million dollar poison is finally taking affect. Gambling on 2nd tier hopefuls and front office juggling way too many eggs. Until we are "able" to run the football Brees and whoever else will struggle. Play action won't freeze anybody or fool anybody. 3 and outs will be plentiful with our current WRs and our poor defense... They will be back out there sucking wind, missing tackles and unable to cover. This group will have to play mistake free, penalty free, turnover free, near perfect football every week to end up positive this season. We've scored enough points these last two weeks to win a football game. I'm hoping that the players have some personal pride and give a better effort. More sacks in game 2 - check Better run numbers in game 2 - check (especially with KR) Caused more turnovers in game 2 - check They have to find a way to put all aspects of a solid performance together on the same day. The focus needs to be: be better than the Falcons, the Panthers and the Bucs after week 17. We can deal with the rest later. |
