I don't expect much from this season.We're rebuilding, it happens. I had hoped we would manage it better but we can only wait and hope.

We're off to a terrible start but we have 14 games to see what Payton can do. If we steadily improve as the season goes along and look to on the upswing to close out the season I'll be happy.

If Payton can do that he'll be safe for another year. If he can't he's in trouble.

Given up? No. Believe the Saints have a realistic shot to make the playoffs? No. Even if this was not a flawed team, digging out of an 0-2 hole is difficult. But, do I believe the offensive line will get appreciably better over the next 15 weeks? no. Do I believe our defense is good enough to stop elite offenses? No. Am I concerned that Brees's shoulder will hinder his performance? yes. Am I worried that Brees lacks enough offensive weapons and for us to be successful on offense we need an elite Brees? yes. So, have I given up? No. But I cheer with a resigned feeling of doom.

Payton's supposed to be an offensive guru so go out sign Tebow. Go for two every time, don't punt, onside kick, institute the two QB offense. Break all the tendencies. If you're going to go out go out in a blaze!!!
