Drew Brees could 'miss games' with shoulder injury, according to NFL Network
 

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will likely miss games -- perhaps several games -- after suffering a shoulder injury in Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the NFL Network reported on Monday.

Saints coach Sean Payton acknowledged Monday that Brees was affected by a shot he took early in Sunday's game.

"Today's the day after. You take a peek and see how he's feeling, coming along, and see where we're at Wednesday," Payton said. "Certainly we'll do the best thing for him and for where he's at. But I think it's early to say."

Id like a trade for Chase Daniel, the guy knows the system. Always thought he could be Drew's replacement but they got him way before they needed him. Oh well here's to wishful thinking.

I dont know what they showed on tv, but you could see he was hurt, in person.
He wont say anything, but he's hurting. It affected his throwing, it affected
his distance. And Im pretty sure he was hurting at the press conference.

Without a healthy Brees we a screwed. Best QB, did what he promised to make us winners for once. Now thats all gone. But I dont want him to play again if hes going to be in pain for the rest of his life, and that same shoulder.
He did everything for us, on and off the field. Just hope he gets healthy.
Never seen him so afraid until the interview after the game.
Fk our season get better we always love you Brees.
He stood behind us, time for us to stand behind him.

There's a reason they're both back-ups. They can stop the bleeding for a few games but not much more.

Brees isn't useful if he can't throw the ball plus why risk further injury. Personally I don't trust Payton to make the right decision about what to do otherwise he would have replaced Drew during the game yesterday.

So why was Brees not taken out of the game if he couldn't throw past ten yards? That's not giving the team a chance. That reminds me of when Aaron Brooks was injured and Hazbeen wouldn't put Delhomme in the game; this game that cost us a playoff spot.

Agreed, but I wouldn't rule out Brees telling everyone that "I feel fine, keep me in coach".

Thats the dark side of the ultimate competitor. They won't tell you anything that may get them benched in favor of someone else.
