Re: I refuse to accept this
They look to me like a team that was out at the club until 4:30 in the morning....too much partying and balling. They could turn it around, I guess, sure why not. But partying and "the life" and off field crazy distractions, has made many good players and teams in this league, look suddenly and inexplicably bad in the past; it's ruined locker rooms and rendered coaches useless, it's messed up plenty of teams in the past, including the Saints. Excessive partying can make athletic guys who are supposed to be good players, get thrown around like rag dolls or look flat and uninspired on the field. Too much partying off the field, can make otherwise competent teams choke and crumble on Sundays, and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on inexplicable boneheaded plays and ridiculous penalties. In a lot of ways, it's exactly like what we're seeing here (at least to my own two eyes). If that's the case, there's not much that we can do about it.

Re: I refuse to accept this
In the spirit of "anything can happen", it's always a possibility. But from my vantage point, this 0-2 team has bigger problems then other teams that have gotten off to slow starts and made the playoffs. For one, we haven't rebounded well from bad starts under Payton, but the past teams that have missed the playoffs under him still put up points. I felt like those teams had a chance. We just turned it over too much, and didn't have any defense, but we could almost always make it interesting.
We don't have as many play makers as we used to, and the one's we have aren't getting the ball enough. There isn't even a spark. Drew was throwing wounded ducks before the reported injury, and now that he IS apparently hurt, I guess that would explain why he could barely even throw the intermediate passes yesterday. It's noble to want to play through it, but we don't have a chance if we try to run him out there right now. Our backup QB is terrible. So I don't see much of a chance there, either. I haven't given up, but I gotta try to be realistic with my expectations. |

We know McCown is terrible, atleast give Grayson a shot to see what we have as our possible future.

Re: I refuse to accept this
I'm never a glass half full guy. That being said, I don't get 'fans' joking about breaking out the bags and reliving the hell of 'Aints'. WTH guys. Week two and you're already throwing in the towel? Did this turn into a Cowboy fansite overnight?
It's OK if you jump right off of the Bandwagon you jumped on when we were high on the hog! Bail now so we don't have to deal with you when the going REALLY gets rough! >:( |
Re: I refuse to accept this
It's not just week 2 of this BS, it's week 18. Of course other teams in history have turned it around after a slow start. We aren't struggling through a slow start, we're aimlessly wandering through a continuation of last years play... All symptoms of the aforementioned management/coaching/front office debacle.

It's frustrating. But we all know we'll be watching. I take exception to people who think that every fan who isn't blowing sunshine up their butt is a bandwagon fan. |
