The Chronicle's Nancy Gay reports that Jerry Porter plans to test the free agent market rather than accept the Raiders' five-year, $20 million contract offer. If Porter signs with another team, look for the Raiders to make a run at Jets free agent LaMont Jordan.
He would make a fabolous complement to Joe Horn. Our starting wide receiving corps would be sick. Horn, Porter, Stallworth, Henderson, Gardner... so much speed. |

Yes he would, but I don\'t think we could afford him with all the other needs we have, unless we wanna try and be the Colts and outscore people, but then all we need is Peyton.

I doubt we will do any F.A. signings..especially..top shelf guys...maybe a few role players...but..nothing that is going to actually make a difference...

good guy but i would rather see any free agent money spent on the worst defense in the league. my expectations are pretty low for FA here with the track record.

Porter would be an excellent choice to do a sign and trade swap with D. Howard. The price would probably come out equal and we would really shore up our offense with an excellent young receiver and they would get a pass rusher they desperately need

Porter\'s still young (and talented) enough to be a nice protege of Joe Horn. Let\'s face it, we ain\'t gonna have Joe forever, and Porter might fit nicely as our next #1 WR. I don\'t think we should empty the vault for him, but he\'s an interesting prospect if we could get him at the right price.

while porter would be a great add b/c of his size, speed and strength, our defense is horrible and our money would best be spent there rather than a no.2 or 3 receiver...
