McCown Not bad But Colston??

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Colston is one of my favorite all-time Saints but I don't get him right now. First he makes some tough catches over the middle and then he drops what looks to be some easy balls....

Too many catches over the middle over the years have caught up with him.

Everyone is dropping passes but yet Colston is the only one being singled out.
Interesting. He is the only WR getting open over the middle. Where are the TE's down the seam? Where are the 10 yard hooks? Where are the sluggo routes? I just don't see any good routes run by any of the receivers. Snead drops what should have been an easy sideline pass towards the end of the game as well as Colston but no one is saying Snead is done. A lot people on here are too critical because they think a player is too old, perhaps it's just that we're a bad team right now and the young players can't beat out the older players.

Probably because Colston has been so consistent over the years. But you know if we trade him he will do a Jerry Rice and come back to haunt us.

I'm willing to bet any amount of money that Randy Moss and Terrell Owens would be more serviceable receivers then what we have on the roster. Why not take a chance on Moss, Owens, Reggie Wayne, or Hakeem Nicks? What harm could it do?

Yeah, and it's not like it was a secret going into the game, he was the most targeted and most productive receiver for Newton the previous two games.

My question is, why do they keep trying to throw that back endzone pass to Cooks, Brees had the same the result, dude is like 5 foot nothing?

I really felt this year with jg k stills coming along and if we got some hogs to protect drew we would have been a playoff caliber team but noo what we do trade jg for a center, get rid of k stills and I still don't know who replaced him yet. and we haven't seen spiller ( I don't count yesterday) and we still haven't seen our j byrd on defense as well as lewis. the problem guys is that they're not closing teams out. all 3 losses were losses whereas the saints had the ball with more than enough time to be creative on othe offensive side of the ball. luke mccown wasn't decent, HE WAS OUTSTANDING! 31-36 (or 38) 300+yrds passing, td but the one thing that hurt that is the int late in the game. overall if we pulled off that win yesterday NO ONE WOULD BE COMPLAINING ABOUT browner or anyone else.
I agree with a lot of what you say, JG, Sproles even Lance Moore gave us
those nice dump off options that are hard to cover. It's ok to to trade as long as you replace with equal or better talent,

If it's not hating on Brees, it's hating on Colston this year. Not like they are falling behind some other stud on offense?

Other guys are dropping them but they have no history of being solid WR's. I expect Snead and Coleman to struggle. I expect Colston to be clutch. I've defended him long enough. He costs us 1-2 drives a game. I hate to say it but he needs to be out of there.
