He's playing well, so far, but he seems to keep getting bigger. He could end up being one of those guys who just can't stay in shape and is too slow for the NFL. Honestly he looks slow right now, but he's overpowering people. If he stays in good enough shape he could be a really good player at the next level.

I just can't get excited about taking a defensive linemen with the first pick, if we were to end up with it.

Saints trade back and get a 1st in 2017 plus additional picks for 2016.

Can still play with idea of picking up a top QB to boot also.

With the additional pick in 2017 the saints chase a RB from LSU?

2016?
Jaylon Smith LB Norte Dame could solve so many issue at OLB
Jalen Ramsey, FS?SS/CB, Florida State could solves so many issue also

Round 2 ? even if it was pick 33?
Austin Johnson NT Penn State 603 325

The more i watch this kid the more I like him. At 325 he is almost sideline to side line fast and cat quick. Ok maybe not Sapp quick but he is quick.

I am talking about a nose tackle that can take way the inside cut back lane from a RB running wide. Unlike most NT we have had as Saints this kid has a non stop motor. Holds his ground and gets push up the middle.

Make a point of watching a Penn state game if you get a chance. Let me know if my eyes are playing tricks on me or not. If not chasing him the draft might be a smart move for the saints. From what I have seen so far he is my #1 NT in the draft. Season is still early in know.

Would not be surprise to see him listed as a first/second rounder on all the boards by season end.

Shore the O-line up, then go after a NT,then a big-good handed WR and LB. the rest can do toward depth on the O-line and D-line. In FA pick up a CB and an enforcer at SS. All this depends on Paytons mis-fit cast of characters on the D getting fired.

Three weeks into the 2015 season I really didn't expect to read a thread on 2016 Saints 1st rd draft possibilities BUT .... whatever direction the FO takes, get Anthony, Kikaha, Swann, PJ Williams, Richardson more defensive talent to build on. These young guys will and continue to improve each week.

It appears dark right now in Who Dat nation but these young guys give me hope for the future .

People bring Connor Cook up a lot. He's just very average. Michigan St. pumps out career backups all the time, and he looks like a lot of them. Has a good frame, but is kind of stiff and never really does anything that stands out. He does enough to help his team win games, but hasn't shown much against the better teams he's played against.

If we're looking for a true franchise QB, I'd look elsewhere. I like this kid Brandon Doughty, from Western Kentucky, but scouts seem to have something against him. I wanted him last year, but it turned out he didn't even declare for the draft even though he was a senior. He applied for a medical hardship waiver and got an extra year of eligibility. He put up ridiculous numbers last year, and is doing it again this year (yes the competition is bad, but it's better than what the likes of Joe Flacco and Tony Romo faced in college). And he has good size at 6'3'', 209 lbs.

I'd take a shot on him at some point in the draft, but if he choose to come back after the year he had last season, it's obvious teams have some knock on him. I don't see what it could be. Look for him to be the next guy to make scouts look like idiots for decades to come.

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

I'm not that far yet but I will be. So far I'm just judging from what I have seen from our D or haven't seen is more like it. I'll be doing my homework.
