Let this be a lesson to all of us.

We don't draft head cases Hagan.

We create them here, sign them to huge contracts and then pay them to play for another team.

Anyone see the stat for the Packers last night 33 guys on the packers roster were drafted by the packers 33 of 53 ! And look packers are n the championship talk every year...it would be nice if the saints had that kinda turnaround n draft picks....

They've averaged about 9 to 10 picks per draft for the last 10 years. That helps.

Draft? Draft? Isn't that what you get when you leave a window open? Ours closed last season and is being nailed shut as we speak.

Let's slow down for a second, was the draft this season perfect? No.

But it was a damn sight better than what we've done in nearly ten years...

And while I'm disappointed Peat came in out-of-shape and is not starting considering his draft status (hate that hypocritical BS rule about allowing Pac10 school draftees to finish classes before participation), I still think he's going to be an outstanding talent...

That said, we had one helluva draft...

In reverse...

You've got a rookie KR/PR in Marcus Murphy) who's made good in less than three weeks into the season (if you're just giving props to points and not overall field position which he's already impacted)...

You have a legitimate starting nickelback in Damian Swann who's already better than all but one veteran who's out injured and has brought some swagger to the secondary...

You've got a defensive tackle, nose tackle in the rotation in Tyeler Davison who allow little to no drop-off when he rotates in the front line...

We stole what was considered a third round talent at OLB/DE in Davis Tull who everyone knew he was going to need a season to recuperate with a fifth round pick...

Got a first round talent cornerback in the third round because of a rookie blunder who's going to add quality depth to our secondary, if not start when healthy...

Got a potential starter at quarterback to develop this season...

Got what will be an All-Rookie Outside Linebacker in Hau'oli Kikaha, who's got a relentless motor...

Got a starting Middle Linebacker in Stephone Anthony who started right away and is already better than anything we've had in the middle since Vilma - and he's just learning...

And then there's Peat...

That's not a bad draft class, and you've got to see where we are with them in the second half of the season, next season, then the third year...

We've got a great haul...

We took Peat and the odds are in our favor he should be ready no later than next year. so be it. If he starts all is good

now we need at the very least one more OG. Another OG that can fill in at center gives even more flexibility. Then again Tim and the others may develop.

That is what this year seems to be all about. youth developing into starters

Re: Players I wanted to draft

Who gives a rats ass what you think. Three games and you already given up on our picks.. Be for real. We have lots of good young talent it is just raw talent needing reps. If you are so good at figuring drafts maybe a team should hire you. Bet you wouldn't make it long. So many negative nellies on here. We have been in all three games with lot's of players hurt and not playing. This is giving some of these players playing time and that's a plus. Brandin Cooks is fine he will do well. let me explain something. 1 our QB's have had little to no time to throw deep. 2. We have three young guys out there it will get better. Look at our starters on offense and defense, you will see a lot of young bodies out there. We will be fine. Right now we need to put together a game a full game play 60 mins of good football. That goes for players and coaches. Don't give up on our Saint's I know most of you are spoiled. Be patient... WHO DAT!!!!!

Could not agree more.

Good post JP.

Its way too early to judge, but we can speculate.

I think its our best draft class (including UDFA's) since 2006, and has the potential to exceed that one as well.
