Jarius Byrd May Return Sunday

1 Attachment(s)
Coach Sean Payton said on WWL last night that safety Jarius Byrd may return to the lineup this Sunday night against the Cowboys - or very soon. “So Jairus right now is back and he’s been practicing. I’m curious this week, all of us are. Last week was his first week back where he was able to get some reps. We will do the same and hopefully he can be available. This was kind of a targeted week going into week four.”

The Saints will be looking for their first win of the season Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys, who also have injury troubles of their own, losing starting quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant for multiple weeks.

If you remember the story that little boy finally told the truth and nobody believed him. You can figure out the moral of that story.

No disrespect to SP but we keep hearing Byrd maybe this and Byrd maybe that!!

I hope he's fit and well to play on Sunday but I sort of have the feeling "I'll believe it when I see it".

GEAUX SAINTS!!!

Who?

Barry from MS 09-29-2015 03:39 PM

Re: Jarius Byrd May Return Sunday

If he plays this Sunday, does that mean he doesn't play the rest of the season?

Just wondering if that is what was negotiated...

What's the over/under on how many games before he's out with another injury?

When you see a guy in a black & gold jersey with the number 31 on it take the field while we are on defense then you will know that Mr. Byrd has returned.

Brees comes back - 2009 style.

Byrd plays like Darren Sharper.

Saints lose 3, then win 13 and win Super Bowl.

Hey, as long as we are talking about the equivalent of a Bigfoot sighting (Byrd doing some other than counting his coins), we can dream...

At this point, having given up him having impact as a Saint, I just hope the guy gets healthy.

I have got to admit that I am hearing the same negative rhetoric as I heard 35 years ago when the Saints had NEVER had a winning season and were 12 losses into a season.

I am beginning to believe in karma. When enough people believe in failure that is what will occur. It is sad.

How do you think this reflects upon us as fans? Giving up on anything? I coached for a few years. My father-in-law coached for several decades and is in the Louisiana High School Hall of Fame. He told me he preached not only to his players but the student body to be positive and never give up. He was a great man and I miss him.

Anyone who gives up, player or fan, is weak and a chicken**** in my book.

Stopped reading right there. Anything that comes out of Payton's mouth concerning injured players is most likely a lie.

Which is why I have zero respect for the "tank" crowd.

You never give up, ever.

Show me a "tanker" and I'll show you a loser.

I think we have been thinking success for several years now. However it didn't matter in 2014 and hasn't matter so far in 2015.

I believe in the Saints...I just don't believe in Byrd's desire to play. If anybody has given up on anything it is the hope of Byrd fulfilling his contract as a Saint.

I honestly feel most us still know we can pull this thing around and shock the world once the pieces start clicking. We are just saying some very frustrated things right now...

I didn't see the word Coach included in the last line.

Byrd return should help but it is Lewis we need ASAP

Then there is the aspect of just how effective he will be after such a significant time away from play. Hope he is back, hope he is healthy, he should expect to be targeted early if so. Agree with Hagan also, Lewis healthy return may have greater impact.

I'm looking forward to Sundays game! Having seen the pretty good job McCown did against the Panthers, I wouldn't mind him starting against the Cowboys, especially if that gives Drew an extra week to get FULLY healed!

I can't be at the Dome on Sunday (wish I could) but the Saints fans that are there need to lift the roof off the building when the Cowboys offence is on the field!

LETS GET THIS SEASON TURNED AROUND, STARTING WITH A WIN ON SUNDAY!!! . . . . . . . . . . GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!

I sure hope so. If not he should of been placed on the PUP list. We could of used the roster spot for extra depth and would of saved the coaches a headache from having to answer the when is Byrd coming back question each week from reporters.

I seriously doubt Byrd will have a huge impact on the defense. The Saints as a whole are not playing good football. We will continue to struggle if the play calling and execution does not improve, this includes offense and defense.

Welcome aboard, SuicideKing. and, yes, we are all hoping for improvement. Hopefully we can get some addition by subtraction.
