Bite the bullet
Saints FO needs to bite the bullet and start the rebuilding Now!. The team has drafted poorly and managed to put themselves deep into salary cap bell. This is going to be a painful process for the faithful.. It is time to cut our losses on high salary non performing players absorb the hits and move forward. We are no longer a team that is a few players from a championship. The draft is the key to turning around this team .Free agency is a useful tool for filling holes . Moving forward we need to be very careful spending on free agents. Stockpiling draft picks and not reaching on projects. Our coaching staff should be under great scrutiny,,scouting and personnel staff as well. It is time to make some big changes and build a team worthy of the best fans loyalty. It's not going to be easy and it's going to hurt but it time to bite the bullet and get it done.

Re: Bite the bullet
Tom Benson sells half the team to Bill Belichick, he moves to New Orleans with Tom Brady and the Jets defense. All is well in Saints Land.

Re: Bite the bullet
I agree with you 100% but not with just players coaches too and if SP and Loomis don't wanna get rid of at least every defensive coach and some offensive coaches like the oline coach and rb coach then they should go too.
Also SP better start getting some new wrinkles in that playbook of his cause that thing is worn out |
Re: Bite the bullet
I think Whilst Brees has value we should try and get what we can for him.
Coaches need to go and we need to start over. I think we may need to move on from people like Ingram, Colston, Ben Watson, Josh hill, Brandon Browner. In Ingram's case he's so infuriating to watch, he played awesome last year and Khiry is noticeably the better player this season. Josh hill - SP built him up like a hall of famer this offseason, does he even have a catch so far? |
Re: Bite the bullet
I think the result of the Cows game will be the indicator for the rest of the season. 0-4 is hard to climb out of 1-3 they may not hit the panic button yet.

Re: Bite the bullet
Our talent level has dwindled and the replacements and fill-ins just haven't panned out.
A whole lot of things have to work together for good success. After 2009, when everyone was looking to get paid, we seemed to have made all the wrong moves. Even when we managed to find a nickel, we lost a dime. Slow death; one small cut at a time. I look around and try to find what's dependable so we could build from there... Not seeing it. Even the solid QB position is heading the way of the rest. By the time we get all the other leaks plugged, Brees' replacement needs to already be high side. Don't remember who said it earlier, "We are just a hot mess!" |
Re: Bite the bullet
We are what we are and it is what its. Our backs are against the wall, time to give 110%!! Teamwork makes the Dream work!! It's time to do something about it!! Rise UP! Rise Up! Oh wait I'm teaching my motivational speaking class in New Orleans this week! Who Dat! Who Dat!!

Re: Bite the bullet
Which team is going to absorb Brees contract and 25+ million against the cap in 2016? He'll probably be guaranteed about 20 million.
If we cut him he's still counts pops our cap for about 8 million next year and maybe further while he'll ink a 17-20 million dollar contract with another team. A trade would be the only option. I agree the front office has made some bad decisions, but if some of those gambles had paid off we would be calling them geniuses. Biggest disappointment has been the draft IMO, except in 2015 we've had the best draft in at least 5 years. Credit the front office for firing player personnel and scouts, and hiring a new team. The decision to rebuilt this team came at the end of 2014 because in 2015 there are 25 new players and starters on the roster. That's the biggest turnover in the NFL. Rebuilding takes more than one offseason. |

Re: Bite the bullet
Totally agree.
It has already begun. We are no longer Superbowl Champs. And its a bitter pill. |
Re: Bite the bullet
Yeah, that's what I don't get. We have already been in a rebuild mode for most of the past two seasons. All of these people calling for blowing the team up and starting over must be blind. In addition, this past off-season there were some major moves in the personnel area of the front office and it looks like it has already reaped benefits with our best draft since 2006.

The problems have been when we over-spend on free agents and totally swing and miss in the draft. We just need to adhere to the formula that works instead of big splash free-agency, over-spending on our own players and drafting crappy players. |
