While we have a few naysayers here in the Whodatnation, remember this, Drew is a FHOF QB. He will come out Sunday night and light it up like New Years. There is no doubt in my mind. No "logical or lets be real" negative explanation can change my mind. When he throws for 5 TDs and shocks the NFL world, just say B.Dub told you so. Good night my people

I would be excited by this news if I had any reason to believe what Payton or Brees say about Brees' health. He was supposedly in the best shape of his career coming in. That turned out to be less than genuine. He wasn't looking very strong before the "not torn" rotator cuff. After that he simply had nothing, whatsoever, left on his passes.

I said last week, get him as healthy as you can before bringing him back. Just having him out there doesn't mean anything if he's 65-75%. And even at 80% health you're putting a strain on that shoulder to try to play through it, and that's asking for a career ending situation at his age.

How about waiting and seeing instead of expecting the worst? Oh, and the stinking up was directly related to the rotator cuff bruise. He looked far better in the preseason and against the Cards the week before.

Hey welcome to the site! Based on your very first post, I'm guessing subtlety isn't a strong suit for you. I completely whole heartedly disagree with your statement, however I respect the fact that it's your opinion.

But there are a few people here that share your same opinion. Most of them, unfortunately, don't know or forgot what it's like to be a Saints fan without Drew Brees. With an exception of Bobby Hebert and Archie Manning, the Saints have never really had a real quarterback.

Last I checked, they're not exactly a dime a dozen. I'll take Drew Brees over 90% of current NFL quarterbacks.

And in my humble opinion, I truly hope he makes everyone that wants him traded, eat so much crow that you'll be coughing up feathers and beaks for the rest of the season.

Yes I have. This was from Payton on Friday.

Brees missed last week's game at Carolina with what has been described in reports as either a bruised or partially torn rotator cuff. The latter might have made it difficult to return after missing just one start. Payton said the "diagnosis was never a tear," although he didn't say what it was.

As far as a week with a bruised rotator, Matt Hasselbeck had the exact same injury a few years back and missed one week, as well.

um, if Drew had thrown an INT with the score 27-22 and us poised to win you'd be killing him. Luke does it and his game was exceptional... bias much?

Not som much bias as expectations. I Always expect Brees to throw the right balls and win the game for us. Luke is a backup for a reason...
