Brees will start against Cowboys

After Friday's practice, coach Sean Payton said, "I think he's planning on starting and we're planning on starting him." Payton also said. "He looked crisp today. I think he's going to end up starting and based on the way the week unfolded each day, I felt like he's made the progress we're looking for."

Finally, Payton said Brees did not have a torn rotator cuff.

But to what extent will he be effective?

If he can't hit a receiver down field because of injury then we are asking for trouble.

I feel pretty good about our chances for a win Sunday night. Yes the absence of Romo and Bryant helps, but I like the fact the team isn't giving up.

Drew said he was inspired how his team fought last week. He knows he's got to start playing within his abilities and strengths.

This will be a good game. I think we've got it.
