"Byrd is a special player. It's not fault he's had to overcome all these injuries. It's just unfortunate; it's part of the game," Ryan said on a conference call with local media Friday. "No one's rehabbed as hard as Byrd has. It's unfair for people to criticize him. All he's done is work his tail off to be a part of this defense, and to be a great part of the defense."

I just want to see some turnovers. It'll be our 5th game of the season and I don't think we have a pick yet. That's awful. I'm not sure how many FF's we have but I'm sure that stat could use some improvement as well.

No picks through 4 games and we have 2 forced Fumbles, both came from Kikaha in weeks 1 and 2.

I have no issues with Byrd except that contract! Just imagine the hoochie mamas you could have in the clubhouse splash around in those whirlpools.

I am a bit puzzled with the dramatic increase in the frequency of injuries. He had issues with the Bills but not to this extent. based on that fact I say the bills dumped him right in time.

Well he is at least healthy enough to be back on the field and should know the playbook by now, so here's hoping. He' probably rusty so 3 games should be enough to see his ability. I had a knee injury and it took forever for my quad to fire, so I can't really knock him.

Why? When a young guy is constantly nicked up, in what way would he suddenly get healthier as he got older?!?

I feel we've had better on the roster; in fact, I thought Vacarro would make a better free safety than strong safety...

Thought we really found something in the playoff loss to Seattle with Vacarro and Bush playing the safety positions...

We could've used that money for pass rushing linebackers...

At the very least, a cornerback was far more needed than another safety...
