NFL teams cornering franchise players NFL teams are starting to gear up for all the offseason moves and deals that will shape their respective clubs for 2005. The season has been over for barely a week and already three players -- Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Corey Simon, New York Jets defensive end John Abraham and St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Orlando Pace -- have had franchise tags placed on them. Teams have until Feb. 22 to designate franchise and transition players. If you look across the league there could be as many as eight other players designated as franchise players. Read More |
