What Has Happened So Far and What's Next for the Saints
I can think of at least 2 passes that Brees threw that SHOULD have been picked off; wonder why he doesn't mention that?
The New Orleans Saints pulled off a heck of a victory this past Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys, winning in overtime, 26-20. Several rookies on this young team performed well, quarterback Drew Brees was impressive despite a shoulder issue and the overall performance gave the fans at home something to look forward to this season. Sure, the Saints are feeling confident right now, but what's next for this team? There are still a few aspects that need to be improved upon if New Orleans wants to contend for the NFC South. What fate rests ahead for this 1-3 team heading to Philadelphia? After completing 33 of 41 passes, throwing for 359 yards, and putting his name in the record books twice, Brees should be patting himself on the back right now. He threw his 400th touchdown pass to running back C.J. Spiller for eighty yards in overtime for a storybook finish and his 5,000th completion to tight end Josh Hill in the end zone, perhaps shocking doubters after coming back from a bothersome rotator cuff. Drew wasn't the only one impressing people Sunday night, though. The defense, besides the secondary, seemed to hold its own against the Cowboys. They produced relatively solid pressure and came up with stops when the team needed it most. There are a handful of things to be hopeful about heading into Week 5 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. What the Saints did well this previous week may have worked against the injured, struggling Cowboys, but will it work against the Eagles? Just in case, I've brought the Who Dat Nation some ideas that will help achieve, if not guarantee a victory for a second straight week. Here is what I think are some things the Saints need to work on before the Eagles game What Has Happened So Far and What's Next for the Saints? |

Re: What Has Happened So Far and What's Next for the Saints
Look, this is clearly a team reloading, in transition...
But I'm really excited about the direction of this team... We've really hit on several draft picks this past draft... Payton really needs someone within this organization to challenge him... In the draft, that appears to be Ireland... But now we need someone on the coaching staff, particularly defense... Team needs a defensive coach to lead the move to a 3-4, getting Edebali on the field at the same time as Kikaha... Then we'd only need to find another inside linebacker who can stay healthier than Ellerbe... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...
