If you only knew how stupid this question is to us old timers. I sat in an attic listening to the saints via short wave radio while in Minnesota. If a Minnesota winter would not stop me nothing will.
trust me things could be a whole lot worse. |

The one thing I will always take away from my fanhood of the Saints is our SuperBowl win. The years of heartache and heartbreak have been apart of my 43 years on this planet. Some may see it as me being satisfied with one Championship, others will know exactly where I'm coming from. I'm not happy with the way the past few seasons have gone. We aren't getting better; we're getting worse. I am grateful to SP for what he has done. However, I think it may be time for a change.

At the end of the season let teams talk to SP about his services and get more picks. Drew and SP together would give you a boat load of high picks to start over. Now the hard questions Who will replace SP? Who will replace Drew? Will these two moves be enough to tank season tickets sales? If season tickets sales tank and given the state of the Benson estate, will this kick open the door for the saints to leave town? The last one really concerns me. Conspiracy theory? Could all of this be orchestrated by the Benson family and the NFL to open the door for the saints to leave the small city of New Orleans for the seventh most populated city in the United States? "Seventh most" populated city in the United States. that is a huge jump in market shares. we all know it is all about the money. hell they are selling out the game for points and profits already. Then we will be in that old cycle once again. The NFL revenue loss or the tax payers build us a new stadium and kick in a bunch of benis to keep the saints in Louisiana. Far fetched? Do you trust Roger and the other owners not to be this sleazy? I don't. Seventh largest media market in the United States vs New Orleans The french quarter may not be able to save us this time Just food for thought |

Re: Saints Fans Who Plan to Remain ALL SEASON.
Grew up watching Bart Starr,Johnny U, etc. loved football. Playing little league ball at Kenner Lions and in the boyscouts. When the NFL came to New Orleans the boyscouts ushered the first quarter and then got to watch the rest of the game from where they could find a seat. Was in every game for Tulane and the Saints as well as every Sugar Bowl game. Football fan since like 4 years old. Played touch ball in the street at six organized player at 8 years old. NEVER quit in any game played in or watched. Watch every play. Yeah, never been a bandwagon guy. Never will be.

Re: Saints Fans Who Plan to Remain ALL SEASON.
I am in a different city almost every week. I go to bars with the nfl ticket or listen on Sirius Xm if driving. In short plan my week around the game. Good bad ugly beautiful I am there.
I have to say that in the Brees Payton era we were briefly Americas team. And it has been a lot easier to find fans in Davenport, but it is starting to feel like the bad old days out there. |

In today's NFL with free agency by the time your picks develop into good players their rookie contracts are up and you either have to pay them or lose them. You don't give up a future HOF QB for a unknown and I don't see the next Rodgers or Luck out there. Drew still has 3 years left whether you want to believe it or not. I don't see any college prospect that can replace him before then. Right now we need DL, OG, TE and WR. Maybe can be drafted next year or obtained in FA once Drew signs 3 yr extension and lowers his cap.

Re: Saints Fans Who Plan to Remain ALL SEASON.
A lot of people seem to think being critical of your team means you do not support them. I especially hear it on radio when callers will call in and say that all the fair weather fans are complaining and should go be Atlanta fans.
Nothing could be farther from the truth. The reason we complain is because we are passionate and care. We have tasted the championship and crave more. We dont have to settle for just having a winning season or just making the playoffs anymore. We are going to hold the organizations feet to the fire and accept nothing but a true desire to put together a great team who plays to win. Yes we may want coaches, players, managment fired, but its because we feel they are no longer best for the organization. It makes me laugh when the same people who flame Saints fans for being critical will turn around and scream about Les Miles. |
