A revived defense, a record-setting game by tight end Ben Watson and a little bit of Steve Gleason-inspired magic helped the New Orleans Saints upset the Atlanta Falcons, 31-21, on Thursday night at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The Saints (2-4) played their most complete game of the season, dominating the previously unbeaten Falcons (5-1) in front of a boisterous home crowd. Watson, 34, caught 10 passes for a career-high 127 yards, including a 2-yard touchdown grab in the third quarter. The Saints elected to go for it on fourth-and-goal from the 4.
