Praise grows for Saints' Delvin Breaux

I'm convinced we've struck Gold with this guy!!

Hours after the New Orleans Saints beat the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night, rookie cornerback Delvin Breaux was re-watching the game on his couch, his dog Diesel sleeping beside him.

It was 1:55 a.m., which we know because that was the time-stamp for his tweet proclaiming, "I really love this sport."

Breaux will turn 26 next Sunday on the same day the Saints (2-4) try to extend the momentum from Thursday's win at Lucas Oil Stadium against the Indianapolis Colts. His incredible path to the NFL and his sheer joy at playing every week have made the New Orleans native a fan favorite.

But his performance on the field, even on a Saints' defense that has continued to struggle in 2015, has started to attract the league's attention.

Pro Football Focus ranks him as the fifth-best corner in the NFL in 2015

I have to admit that my excitement over him is almost embarrassing, but I love this guy. From the way he plays the game to his truly inspiring journey to get here. There's just nothing not to like about him. His progression has been much faster than I'd even hoped for, and I've pretty much been on board his hype train since he signed with us. He isn't elite... but I think he's gonna be.

After what he has been through, almost not being able to play at all; he should never lose the eye of the tiger.

Even after he signs a big contract

I like him. But the refs don't and he needs to understand that and grow from it.

Did you notice, on Thursday night, that he didn't draw one penalty, while crushin' it on Delvin Island?

Fine. But, he looks like the closest to the real deal we've seen around here in a long long time.

What I like the most about him is how down to Earth he seems.

Glad he made it. Just goes to show you, you can do anything as long as you can put your mind to it. If you can see it, you can be it.
