Oh hell you never know. Payton could be just trying to lure Indy into thinking we're going to run the ball more. Who knows with him.

I definitely agree that our run defense and offense needs heavy improvement. Especially that run D. Ick...we can't stop anyone.

Oh well...at least we got to the QB last game and the DB's looked much better. That's improvement. Maybe the d-line can get a little more push and we can get to the ball carrier better this game.

Maybe we're on the verge of a breakthrough defense! Or maybe not...who knows.

.

+1. The Saints currently rank 31st in the league and allow 27 + points per game. It's hard to win giving up 435 yards a game.

I miss the scripted opening drive that plays out like 1:30 left in the game and no time outs.

I miss the dead-run-post-pattern for a 30-yard gain.

I enjoy Ingram once he's beyond the line of scrimmage, and would like to see him get there somehow other than between the tackles... and on first down each and every series.

I enjoy Drew on a dead run, and would like to see more of that because it is so uncharacteristic.

... Anything uncharacteristic of the predictable three and out of lately.

He hired RR, why would he hint around about that? If he doesn't succeed it will be 0 - 2 since Greg Williams. Oh wait, he's really saying "In Spags he trusts!"

Simple Solution - Declare Mark Ingram has a Groin Injury, Sit Him...

Run Khiry Robinson and/or C.J. Spiller for a couple of games...

If you have more success, trade Ingram to the G'nats or dem' Cowboys for a King's Ransom...

If you still suck, get off Ingram's arse (though I think he goes down to easy on the first contact), and sign/draft some road graders...

And that should tell you all you need to know.

Great RB who hit the inevitable 30 year old wall.

Its as consistent as the drop off in vision at the age of 40.

So many times, the play-by-play will be like, first Ingram runs for a good gain, like maybe 7 or 10 yards. Then the next running play, Robinson gets 1 yard. OR vice versa -- Robinson gets a big huge chunk, then Ingram comes in a couple of plays later and gets nothing. The switching around of the backs (and the lack of momentum it creates) is REALLY noticeable when you go back and look at the play-by-plays in the box scores in the games this year. Anytime somebody gets a hot hand and breaks a big gain, the next back usually gets almost nothing or a loss.

It's getting so I'm starting to dread the whole thing on offense where after a play, there's the big long pause, and then you see five or six guys come out and five or six new guys go in, after EVERY play. It kills the momentum and lets the defense adjust to whatever they see.

I don't know if anybody else saw this at the game, but the Falcons had assistant coaches who were watching the Saints substitutions. And they would have 3 or 4 defensive guys standing around ready to go in (a lot of times these guys not even on the chalk on the sidelines, several times they were actually out on the field, almost by the numbers, waiting to run into the field). And they would watch who the Saints sent in on offense, and then run their defensive personel out onto the field to match. Probably 19 plays out of every 20, the Falcons waited and sent in their defense AFTER the Saints had their offense already in the huddle, and they'd seen who was in the game.

If that doesn't tell you the Saints playcalling is too obvious, I don't know what will.

Didn't do them a lot of good!
