T – Oliver Ross, Pittsburgh; Ross is a big tackle who would fill a glaring need for the Saints. The team has a strong inner core, but lacks depth and youth on the outside of their offensive line. Ross would be able to come in and produce immediately and allow the Saints to develop another tackle or two over the next few seasons.

DT – Chris Hovan, Minnesota; Perhaps a gamble in some people’s eyes, Hovan was considered by many to be one of the premier defensive tackles in football until recently. That changed after rumor has it that he fell out of favor with the Vikings head coach and that sealed his fate in Minnesota. Hovan is a passionate football player who if teamed up with somebody the likes of Brian Young could finally fill out the Saints defensive line and likely give them one of the better front four in football.

LB – Kendrell Bell, Pittsburgh; Perhaps Bell is one of the better linebackers on the free agent market this year, with the only knock on the guy being his durability. If he is able to remain healthy for a season, the Saints would get a huge return on their investment. Bell is fast, strong, and very smart. Playing for Pittsburgh you know that he can play defense and with the Saints wanting a quick defensive group, he would fit well into their defense.

S – Donovin Darius, Jacksonville; A very smart and physical player, Darius is one of the premier safeties in the NFL. He is able to play both the pass and come up and stop the rush when needed. The Saints were rumored to have interest in him a few years ago, but instead made a deal for TeBucky Jones. With Jones still not having reached his full potential, Darius could be the answer to the Saints defensive backfield woes. Darius would give the Saints not only a solid defensive back, but a field general who could read and adjust the defense as needed. His addition would strengthen a much improved secondary and teamed with Mike McKenzie would give the Saints a strong core to build on.
we would really upgrade our team in a hurry..that added to the draft...wow!!

I hope, as well that we can get something pretty good for howard-i'm thinking linebacker...

i also feel the same way about darius.... at one time he was really good, but now, not so much.... i really think we\'d be better off drafting safety in the 1st or 2nd rd....preferably 1st with thomas davis....

I don\'t think Hovan is done. I think he fell out of favor with the coaches, and they bad mouthed him. Same thing happened with Kearse. Said he was injury prone and the Titans could afford to lose him, and he earns every penny with the Eages. Some players just need a change of scenery. With Hovan\'s value now as opposed to what he would bring to the team with a chip on his shoulder, he would be one of the better moves we could make. And if we could get anything out of sullivan, hell yeah.

Darius, I am on the fence with. He does make plays and is a hard hitter, but I kinda agree with going younger through the draft at safety. If we get him I would be okay with it, but if we didn\'t I would be okay with that too.

There\'s something....off with Hovan. You don\'t take good players and drop them down to 4th on the depth chart, which is where he was, at one point during last season. Kearse was injury proned, but there was never a doubt about his play.

Hovan is one of those guys that can fool you just because his name was big a year or two ago......we don\'t need players that were good in the past...we need players that are good now.

Hell, if we are to pick up a Vikings lineman...I say sign Brock Lesnar first....ROFLMAO!

hey brock\'s got the physical tools and the potential..it wasnt\' his fault it was the offensive linemans fault for not just letting him get to the quarterback and the linebackers fault for not pushing him and the coaches fault for the schemes being too complicated and the originator of footballs fault for designing a too complicated stance for DL..and...fill in the blanks...

sorrry couldn\'t resist.
