this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; No commitment from Payton. When we do run it, it's just too predictable. 40 throws and 15 runs will not make the defenses play honest. Ingram, Robinson, Thomas, Ivory... Didn't/Doesn't even matter. None of them were/are "allowed" to get on ...

No commitment from Payton.
When we do run it, it's just too predictable. 40 throws and 15 runs will not make the defenses play honest. Ingram, Robinson, Thomas, Ivory... Didn't/Doesn't even matter. None of them were/are "allowed" to get on a roll. It's my opinion that the O-line would also get on a roll - if allowed. Just no commitment from the top. The result is no "good" success on the ground. |

So if our O-line is fine, and our RB's are fine, why are we 2nd worst in the NFL in yards per game, and 2nd worst in yards per carry? Its not attempts because we're 19th in total rushing attempts.

These aren't even stats. These are jumbled up words trying to defy both the eye test, and the actual stats that back up what we see. I understand some of the baseball metrics that are used today, because it's actually based off of player trends that can easily be measured in stats.
This crap here is just a bunch of guess work. It sounds almost like someone trying to turn back time and say what would have happened if this person had taken the stairs instead of the elevator. |

I guess what he's saying is that a couple really long runs by all of our RBs would make the team stats more in line with other teams who do have several long runs factored into their numbers. The lack of big runs is dragging down our averages
