Re: Lot of negativity toward the end
Oh, and the D, in the first half was, literally, shutdown. It was a thing of beauty.

Re: Lot of negativity toward the end
In the first half the D was incredible, I still have no idea how Breaux slipped twice over absolutely nothing.
Kikaha with yet another forced fumble. The D with another 2 interception game Cam Jordan with 2 more sacks, unfortunately the pressure on Luck completely disappeared in the second half. Run blocking was incredible and disappeared when it mattered the most. The most positive thing - we won. |

Re: Lot of negativity toward the end
I was annoyed listening to John Lynch talking about the Colts' "self inflicted wounds" in the first half, when they could barely even get a first down on us and we threw an interception in the endzone. We were clearly dominating them.
In the second half it was penalties and Breaux falling down that let the Colts back in. It was the SAINTS who were killing themselves. There were a lot of good things to see in this game, but we really throttled down significantly. Don't ever give a team hope when you have them dead to rights. My overall takeaway is that we have seen that this team at it's best can be pretty good. They have a lot of growing up to do with consistency. That's an upgrade from what we saw in the first 5 weeks. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

Re: Lot of negativity toward the end
an ugly win is still a W in the end. It could be the one win we need to get a wildcard. One game at a time.
That being said, no, there isnt too much to get excited about. Next years D is going to be fun to watch, but when a team lets an opponent come back with 20 points and almost win that team deserves some nagativity. If anything it just shows me that just like every Saints team the last 3 years just cannot finish strong. |
