Trades we'd like to see: Saints send Drew Brees to Jets

Fortunately this will never happen!

Brees, who turns 37 in January, is in the second-to-last year of a five-year deal worth $100 million. He's making $13.5 million this year, but the Jets would only have to come up with half in the event of a deadline trade. The base salary is a staggering $19.75 million next year and the salary cap hit is $30 million -- the highest in the league. By releasing or trading Brees, the Saints would save $20 million. Thinking ahead, the Saints picked quarterback Garrett Grayson in the third round this year, the highest they've drafted a quarterback in the regular draft since Archie Manning in 1971.

Even though I think Garrett Grayson may be the QB of the future, this would be astronomically stupid.

Be careful linking stupid and the Saints in the same sentenc; the Saints did use all of their draft picks to get one player!

At best, Grayson will be the backup of the future. Brees' replacement probably isn't even starting in college yet.

Nah, I've watched quite a bit of Grayson, I think the dude has real potential. He's going to surprise people.

I would call out ESPN (pronounced "sleaze-pen") as the urinal of sports journalism, but that would be an insult to urinals worldwide...

ESPN deals more with politics and peaking into athletes lives now than actual sports. It is the sports equivalent of a tabloid magazine.
