this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I hear Micheal Lewis is having a great camp. What are the odds of him returning punts this year and keeping Stallworth off of special teams?...

Heard somewhere that his off season workouts with the team have helped him . He has more understanding and catches a lot better with less fumblinng . Last I heard he was pushing the 5th or 6th spot . If he makes it , I would assume he would return punts and kickoffs .

Besides the fumbling last year with his size it seems like all you have to do is touch him and he goes down. I just dont think I want to see stallworth out there. I hear Craver is pushing for time on the return teams too

Heard that too . But you would think it would be as a reserve , too costly to chance .
Beerman has to be it , returner and reserve receiver , he fits that way . |

I just hope beerman learned to to hang on to the ball in the off season. Sounds like he has worked hard this off season. I saw on one of the articles on the website that he burnt Fred Thomas and Sammy Knight twice the other day on long TD rec. Hopefully we will see the improvements on sundays.

Yeah looks like Ojo is the odd man out. I heard they are going to keep 5-6 reveivers. Ojo has to be fighting with Robinson and beerman for that last spot. I watched quite a few games of hime in the world league this year and he didnt show me anything. I understand he is raw but i just didnt see and desire to play hard.

This is what haslett has to say about Lewis:
\"Michael\'s done a good job the whole year, the whole off season. He\'s caught the ball well and as long as Michael\'s consistent catching it and also punts and kickoffs, he has a good shot at making the football team. Obviously he\'s getting a lot done.\" |

It seems like everyday I come to this site and look at the training camp review I see Micheal Lewis had the offensive play of the day. He seems to be very consistent and playing well. I am pretty excited to see him return punts this year. With his speed he should give the saints just another weapon on the field

He is one of those players I hope they get under contract soon for a few years , before he breaks a couple and starts comparing his contract to Keyshawn\'s .
