I am kind of enjoying this season
I got spoiled with us being contenders most every season. When we would lose or even not look great I would get really miffed because I knew we should expect greatness. I guess it was starting 0 for whatever and realizing we could very well have back to back losing seasons (8-8) is losing imo) paired with the fact that we just flat out looked bad on both sides of the ball with not many flashes to look forward to. I decided to just enjoy watching the young guys develop and knocking off some division rivals. I have to say its been a lot less frustrating and these games are fun to say the least.
If we were 8-0 I dont know if todays win could have felt much better. |

Probably the biggest my blood pressure has been since the Superbowl win
Our DB's, every single one of them played like they were Jason David. Just glad our offense was on point. |

Re: I am kind of enjoying this season
It was a duel of two teams with great QB's and very poor DB's.

one good thing that is coming out of all this injury crap is see what we have for a bench and what areas need to be addressed. so far our bench looks pretty good except a few glaring holes.
It is easy to judge your starters but very rarely do get see the bench this much. |

Re: I am kind of enjoying this season
The negative folks can say what whatever they want, but The Dude is 100% right -- the last few games have been INCREDIBLY entertaining. Even the loss to Carolina, came down to one final play -- the ol' heave-ho into the corner of the end zone.
IMHO we've already had TWO incredible, all-time great, "game for the ages" Superdome memories this year, games that will be remembered for a long LONG time, against Atlanta and the Giants. And if Cooks had somehow miraculously come down with the ball in Carolina, or if we'd run some other type of play there that worked, that would be a third INCREDIBLE game, and the season's not even halfway done yet. Another thing I've been enjoying about this year, I've actually sorta stopped tracking every game in the standings and paying so much attention to the playoff hunt and the rest of the league, and I'm just rolling with the Saints on Sundays. Just win the games in front of you, that's all they can really do at this point.... In past years I would have been crunching all kinds of scenarios and seedings, worrying about this team or that team. But for right now, I'm just enjoying the Saints games for the fun they are. The Dome was fantastic yesterday. I thought it was a little quiet at first, but it was rocking and rolling. |

I feel the same way. I find myself tuning in now not expecting much but anxious to see how the youngsters are developing and hoping for a win in the process. I still think this group is a year away from contention but they sure have been fun to watch.

Re: I am kind of enjoying this season
I feel the same way, expectations weren't all that high going into the season for this team so each win is enjoyable. Even after they lose, I don't get as emotionally down as I used to in season's past

It's what we've been waiting for for two years - an offense that can overcome poor defensive play.
Frankly, I'm shocked the secondary played so poorly yesterday. |
