I was there!

As you may or may not know, my Wife has taken me to New Orleans for my 50th birthday present to watch the Giants and Titans games. Have watched the first one and have an incredibly sore throat and my head is still spinning. Could not believe what I was witnessing (or hearing from my Wife) It also happened to be our sixth wedding anniversary so what a present that was. Looking forward to Tennessee next but hope we maintain our offensive run and hope we remember to pack our defense. Sitting in a hotel courtyard just mulling over yesterday. Anyway, toodle-pip.

Re: I was there!

I never noticed until now that you are not from around here. I don't know what toodle-pip means, but right back atcha.

Hopefully you and your wife will enjoy the next game even more than the last. That will mean good things for all of us. If we win by something like 50 points I will personally start a fund to keep you two in Louisiana for at least the remainder of the season.

Was just thinking WTF re: tootle-pip as well. Over the years I have worked on quite a few projects with British companies and engineering groups. Sitting in meetings I understand every word they say and not really know what the hell they are talking about. Just goes to reinforce that the UK and US are two countries divided by a common language, ya'll.

Re: I was there!

Hey, my wife and I are coming into New Orleans on Wednesday evening and will also be going to the Titans game on Sunday. I'd love to get a chance to meet another B&G member! Let me know if you might be interested.

Toodle-pip is an antiquated British term meaning goodbye. Normally reserved for someone like Bertie Wooster of Jeeves and Wooster fame, which was brilliantly played by Hugh Laurie with Stephen Fry as Jeeves.

I have seen the Saints many times my Wife hasn't seen as many but here's the thing: Whenever she has watched them live, and that is five times, they have never lost.
