and even though we probably won't get him, he would be my choice.......brooks will never get us to the promise land, i admit this...... i accept it, and consider the matter closed... although we have a decent o. line at best for the time being, i think that's more than enough for kurt to work with, but again, i'm dreaming...........(as a fan, that's all i do for the most part........) i believe with just a decent line kurt still has it to shred a defense, and with our recievers, he could......that's really not wishing for much, i could wish for brady, but that's really wishing............give me someone with heart santa....... smitty |

If you really enjoy seeing QB\'s getting creamed and fumbling the ball, then he is definitely your guy!!

Good call on the fumbler. Don\'t forget his mobility that rivals a dumptruck.

I don\'t know if this is true or not, but people have accused him of taking a sack, rather than throwing the ball away, to keep his QB rating higher. I didn\'t say it, just heard it.

I\'m not sure it\'s a fair assessment to make relative to Warner\'s performance in NY and his ability to succeed in (potentially) NO. I saw the Giants play for all 16 games (as I\'m doomed to watch them in the NYC area), so I might have more perspective...
Warner played on a team that had next to little talent, especially on offence. The O-line was young and makeshift and ranked 29th (while the Saints O-line was ranked 19th). His receiving corps were among the slowest and lightly regarded in the league, even with Jeremy (don\'t throw it to me when I\'m open in the end zone because I\'ll drop it) Shockey; his only real threat was Tikki Barber. Teams lined up 9 in the box and went hell bent for leather at him. Sure he fumbled 12 times (losing 4) and he wasn\'t mobile, but most of the sacks he suffered he had no shot to even throw the ball away. He fumbled more as a result of taking a beating (39 sacks in 9 games) due to injuries in the O-line. Accross the board, his numbers were better than Brooks, 6% higher completion rate, higher YPA, and he threw fewer interceptions (comparitavely) and threw even fewer when behind. The Warner Giants weren\'t in the redzone very often, but converted about the same rate, with a better mix of run and pass. His overall Time of possession, especially in the critical 1st half, was significantly better than the Saints by ALMOST 4 MINUTES. He ran a high efficiency, ball control offence that featured run first, passing second. Why wouldn\'t one want to have a two time MVP with an ACCURATE arm, play management skills plus his TEAM FIRST attitude run a Saints team that Haslett seemingly wants to have??? If Leon was half a man, he\'d pick up the challenge and ask for Warner to back him up. At least Warner will try to make him look as good as Leon can. |
