Statistically over the whole NFL, it is not as big a deal as people think. Interim coaches have a .394 win average. That's not gangbusters impressive.
An unknown quarterback makes a bigger difference than an unknown/fresh coach. People mention Miami as an example, because it is fresh in their minds, but those Dolphins and their interim coach were playing against....these same Titans. Doesn't necessarily mean that they won because they changed the coach four days before the game.... |
