not my choice but my money is on no change. they have coddled brooks and his sensitive ego this far and long that they dont wanna threaten the po boy now. make it this year or the complete rebuild starts after the coming season, staff n all. ya know who he reminds me of? jake the snake, mr. hot-n-cold in arz. somebody will take a chance on him even if things fall apart this year. the results will probably be much like jake in denver too (the same). a more realistic hope is getting someone in the 3rd round of the draft.

PS TO ALL-- that didnt look like a premium article but it certainly is welcome and appreciated when anyone posts stuff from premium espn, si, sn, etc. THANKS

If I get ESPN Insider stuff, i\'ll post it. I have a subscrip.

The only probelm with handing the team to him another yeat with NO competition is, what if his value drops after next season? Then we are pretty much stuck with him. If he leads the team in fumbles again, I think it would be valuable to have someone there that we can go to and at least say Aaron, we aren\'t gonna tolerate these mistakes any more and if you can\'t get it done, we will find someone who will. The staff has not had the balls to say this to Aaron at any point in his career and now is the time. If he flakes before the trade deadline, maybe we can get something for him in season for next season and take a shot at Leinart, which I think we should do anyway if he comes out in the supp draft.

Certainly not if you have anything to say about it, right?

Why not? Frankly I think we\'ve been pretty lucky so far that Brooks hasn\'t been injured so badly that he is completely unavailable.

I\'ve had very little confidence in the backup QB position since Jake left.

Just because I don\'t necessarily want Brooks gone doesn\'t mean that we shouldn\'t look for another good QB.

Bowman has shown nothing in the two years that he\'s been here.

I believe they will look for someone late in the draft for a #3 spot on the roster. That\'s how they got J.T. and I think Kingsbury will be given a shot to compete for a roster spot.

For me, the backup QB is of more importance right now than the starting position. I believe we could do better than AB, but for the backup Bouman has not impressed me at all. IF AB were to get hurt, we\'d be pretty screwed.

The thing is we can really get two things at once here. We can get a veteran who will clear up our backup concerns while at the same time might be someone who could push AB for the starting job. One guy could solve a lot of problems.
