Did you expect anything different?

Let us be realistic, this is a rebuilding year. We went into the season with a 90 yr old wr and 2 pretty much rookie wr's. On the defensive side we were counting on 2 rookie LB's and a revamped D-line full of a bunch of late draft picks from last year. We have 2 TE's who have been backups their whole career and plugged in 2 o-linemen that would not start for most college teams. I know we are all upset with the record but could we of expected more?
With that being said I see next year a make or break season. Our cap room will look much better and Drew should fix that mess of a contract extending him another year or 2. This year I see a 7-9 season and one or two players next year could improve our record to a 10-11 win team. Browner should be gone and Breaux will be starting across from Lewis. RR will be gone and the defense will look much better.

I expected 11-5, and I still think thats what our talent level indicates.

Even with a 90 year old WR, 2 rookie WR's, 2 back-up TE's we're still the number one offense in the NFL.

With the worst defense in world history, to have the number one offense in the league is outstanding.

If we simply had a middle of the road defense we'd probably be 7-3 as we speak.

And a head coach who's motto is "I never said you were right and I'll admit I was never wrong."

As Dandy Don used to sing "Turn out the lights, the party's over!!"

I thought we would be 12-4. With Unger and Peat I thought the line would be better.

I agree completely! But with 2 rookies, 2 comming back from season ending injuries and 3 second year players starting I just could not picture a middle of the road defense. Now, no way I expected this defense! I believe we will set records we don't want to set this year on defense.

I also expected a better line. Peat has been a disappointment to say the least. Strief and Evans needs to find a new team next year.

Brees has taken some abuse this year

True, I really expected the young players to get better and better as the year went along. We have some very good, but extremely young up and coming players. I didn't expect a top 10 defense, but we don't need one. A mid-pack defense would have been good enough. We absolutely had the talent for that.

The big blows were losing that idiot Galette (although I agree with cutting him), and injuries to Keenan Lewis, Glen Foster, Broderick Bunkley, and Jarius Byrd. But thats no excuse for the worst defense in the history of Earth.

This year probably took 2 seasons off his career. I see him playing 2 more years at the most.

I'm surprised that Brees hasn't been seriously injured yet this year!

He had stitches in his lip from last weeks game and at one point in todays game he was sandwiched in between to beast size Redskin players and then his helmet flew off and went rolling across the turf!

I hope I'm proved wrong but the way things are going you can just see a big hit taking him out and him not getting up off of the turf if things carry on the way they are!!! :-(

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!
