A Few More Things the Saints Should Do During the Bye Week
Saints fans for the most part were pleased earlier this week to see the Saints organization begin taking measures to fix the myriad of problems currently facing their embattled 4-6 football team, while they’re currently on their “Bye” Week break until the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
Their approval comes following the firing Monday night of former defensive coordinator Rob Ryan — after his 32nd ranked defense had given up 130 points and nearly 1,500 yards in total offense to opponents in the last 3 weeks. A Few More Things the Saints Should Do During the Bye Week |

Unfortunately a bye week is not going to change the problems, IMO.

Re: A Few More Things the Saints Should Do During the Bye Week
If we can clean up the penalties and play smart sound football then there will be a marked improvement in the defenses performance. Drive extending penalties along with blown assignments have led to this being the worst defense in football. Fix those two problems and you can fix a large part of our defensive woes.
We won't know until the injury reports come out but we should field our healthiest team in quite a while. After the bye week I am hoping to see most or all of our starters actually start and contribute rather than see backups get torched. We need Ellerbe desperately in the LB'ers and we need our dinged up secondary to get on the field to play as a unit. We have more talent than people give us credit for.......we just have no depth. Bad drafting has really hurt us. |
