Regular season is tough on some fans!

*just for fun BC If you're a Saints' fan, life has been miserable watching the Saints barely miss the playoffs the past few seasons. Missing the playoffs has been hard on all Saints' fans. That's one thing we all have in common. But, for some fans, the offseason is the only relief!! The offseason is absolutely the ONLY HOPE for some Saints' fans!! Some fans are so enamoured of the current regime, they lose all perspective of the team being bogged in mediocrity for four years!! And it's KILLING their soul that some of the current players are criticized or might actually be cut or traded. These fans don't want to hear anything about winning. Only unless it is with the current players anyway!! In fact, even suggesting that we have a shot of making the playoffs with an overhaul makes smoke come out of their ears. And if you really want to make their blood boil, just mention that we might have a better season with Aaron Brooks not at QB. That blood pressure will really rise!! Each and every year they say a prayer that Brooks will perform as hoped for. And each and EVERY year they get disappointed. I'm telling ya folks, I think it's starting to get to some of 'em. I don't know how much more they can bear. I'm not a Brooks fan, so I kinda get a kick out of it myself. And then there's McCarthy and Haslett. The first, better known as Aaron Brooks' daddy. Oh, they loved him almost as much as Brooks. He might have not been the best play caller but you could never question the quality of his playbook. How sad that he had to go. But, Haslett comes back to revive them every year too- losing streak, losing streak, and just enough umph to stay around amd disappoint . I kinda like that too. Right now is a wonderful time of year for some Saints' fans. Another season of hopes and dreams lays ahead with Haslett and Brooks still here. No drastic changes once again. My my my......... Oh, well.... [Edited on 19/2/2005 by LKelley67] |
