Unable to put the ball in the end zone, the Saints snapped a streak of 155 games with a touchdown, the second-longest in NFL history and a run that dated to before Payton was hired. Brees, who was sacked twice by Watt and spent most of the day under fire, saw a streak of 45 straight games with a touchdown pass end, snapping a stretch that ranked fifth in NFL history.
Overwhelmed by Houston’s defensive front and a secondary that often took away Brees’ options, the Saints put up 260 yards, the first time since a December 2013 loss to Seattle that New Orleans failed to break the 300-yard barrier. Read the rest here |

Re: Held out the end zone for first time under Sean Payton
Bye week...plenty of time to prepare...FLAT. Evidently Rob wasn't the problem, but blamed for Katrina etc... In fact the lackluster performance by the team indicate that they were not motivated positively by the firing. The negative performance shows me that they were in fact negatively influenced by the firing. It seems obvious to me by the performance that the players did not like the firing of Ryan and are all bummed by the actions of the hierarchy. Real problem not fixed. Scapegoating seldom works.

OL sucks. Once the Texans hit Drew a couple times all he did was look for his first read and threw the ball away to avoid the hits. On his INT at the goaline he had a WIDE open Spiller in the corner of the endzone. No one was even close to Spiller.

The thing that really irks me is that our own teddybarexxx is turning out to be right about our offensive inefficiencies and we've given him so much crap.
